The Play School at The Paw Seasons Resort – Lanark offers your dog “Daycare in Play” – endless fun and social interaction, along with mental stimulation, creating a happy, contented pet.
The Play School is designed to give dogs a safe, stimulating environment, where they can spend the day in the company of other dogs. Our canine kindergarten is a cage-free facility. That means that our dogs spend the day in the company of other dogs in an open play area.
We offer a safe setting, where your dog can play, relax and make new friends.

-
8am - Doors open and our guests for the day start to arrive.
-
10 am - By now all the dogs have arrived. Everyone has said good morning to everyone else and just like in any school playgound, everyone finds friends with a similar play style to hang out with.
For some this will be lively physical play, others are sniffers and scenters. And of course there are the quiet contemplative ones that keep more to themselves and think deep thoughts. Each to their own.
-
Midday - Feeding time for the puppies and staff.
-
1pm - Chill time. We gently persuade everyone to rest for an hour, including the Duracell dogs.
-
4pm - The daily task of matching leads to dogs begins as the first mums or dads start arriving to pick up their tired and contented dogs.
-
6pm - Daycare closes.
A DAY IN DAYCARE
Benefits of daycare
-
Peace of mind for the owner, knowing your pet is enjoying safe play with its canine friends and our experienced and caring staff.
-
Allows your dog to be just a dog. Dogs are naturally pack animals. They love the interaction and stimulation playing alongside canine friends.
-
All day supervision with a structured day. Free play, supervised exercise and relaxation time when needed, all in a safe, caring environment.
-
A reduction in destructive behaviour. Your dog will return home a happy, contented pet.
WHO CAN COME PLAY
-
We offer an open play environment, so understandably, every dog attending must be evaluated for temperament and social abilities. An appointment will be arranged for you and your dog to come and meet the team. A chance for you to see our facilities and for us to meet your dog. This is a good opportunity for us to answer any questions you may have.
-
If you wish to enroll your dog into day care, there will be some forms to fill out. A date will then be set for you to bring your dog to a temperament test. This requires you to leave your dog with us for evaluation.
TEMPERAMENT TEST
-
Your dog will be introduced to a small group of dogs to observe their interactions. We are looking for any aggressive or fearful tendencies. It is essential to confirm that your dog will be happy at daycare. It’s also important for us to observe your dogs behaviour without your presence – remember – you won’t be there when your dog is in daycare. Ultimately, we can only offer places to good natured dogs that can mix in with other dogs. We accept puppies from 1 year old.
